Cosa significa warez?
Con warez identifichi il materiale distribuito in barba ai diritti d’autore; quindi rientrano in questa categoria tutti i programmi commerciali distribuiti illegalmente su Internet con le protezioni già disattivate (tramite crack o codice seriale contraffatto).
Se scarichi un programma che costa svariati euro tramite torrent o eMule, stai praticando warez; se distribuisci questo programma illegale tramite la rete, compi del warez. I principali responsabili della distribuzione di materiale warez sono i pirati informatici noti come cracker, ossia coloro che si sono impegnati per violare i sistemi di protezione del diritto d’autore inserendo crack all’interno del programma.
In principio praticare warez non era mai finalizzato ad ottenere un ritorno economico: spesso i cracker miravano a dei fini etici (il prezzo troppo alto di una licenza, farla pagare ad una società che non difende i diritti alla privacy etc.). Ora invece sono numerosi i siti che distribuiscono warez con tanti annunci pubblicitari, spesso pieni di malware.
Andare in cerca di warez quindi può mettere in serio pericolo la privacy e l’integrità del PC, ecco perché è sconsigliato (oltre ad essere illegale).
Sei un bambino? Evita di visitare siti warez, il rischio di compromettere il tuo PC è elevato! Se non sai come attivare un programma chiedi aiuto ad un adulto.
Sei un adulto? Distribuire materiale warez è illegale, e molti metodi di scaricamento includono anche la successiva ridistribuzione del materiale. Quindi se scarichi warez diventi a tutti gli effetti un pirata informatico se ridistribuisci il materiale protetto dai diritti d’autore.
